Terms of Use, Privacy and Cookies
This page explains the terms on which you may use moudiotis.gr, how the legal and regulatory information we publish should be read, and how we handle personal data and cookies. We have tried to write it plainly and honestly.
1. Terms of use
This website belongs to Moudiotis & Associates Technical Office (responsible person: Dimitrios Moudiotis, Mechanical Engineer, Ymittou 157, Pagrati, Athens, Greece). By using it you accept these terms. If you do not agree with any of them, please do not use the website.
You may read, print and share pages of the website for personal or professional information, citing the source. Please do not use the website:
- in any way that is unlawful or harms its operation (e.g. intrusion attempts, automated bulk scraping, overloading);
- to send unlawful, offensive or unsolicited (spam) content through the contact form;
- to republish the content as your own or in a way that implies a relationship with our office that does not exist.
Contacting us through the website (form, email, phone) does not by itself create an engagement. Work begins once the scope and fee have been agreed in writing.
2. Legal disclaimer
The website publishes a good deal of information on legislation, procedures and regulatory requirements for vehicles, type approvals and registrations. We publish it carefully, because we believe good information helps. To use it safely, please bear in mind that:
- the content is provided for general information only;
- it is not individual legal advice or a legal opinion and does not replace the advice of a lawyer or other competent professional. Our office provides engineering services; references to legislation are made in that context;
- how any provision applies depends on the facts of each case (vehicle, documents, history, competent authority), and authorities may interpret or apply a provision differently;
- we recommend that you do not rely solely on this information for important decisions (e.g. buying or importing a vehicle, building or converting one, filing an application);
- where needed, please consult an appropriate professional, or us, so that your own case can be examined.
Amounts (fees, charges, fines) and timeframes are indicative, based on the rules in force when each page was written. The binding texts are always those published in the Greek Government Gazette (ΦΕΚ) and the instructions of the competent authorities.
3. Currency and accuracy of information
We make every effort to keep the content accurate and up to date, and we correct errors we find or that you point out to us. Legislation changes often, however, and we cannot guarantee that every item always reflects the latest legislation, case law, administrative practice or regulatory amendment. In particular:
- legislation may change after a page or article is published;
- there may be a delay before the website content is updated;
- some information may have been published before a recent change in the law, a circular or a new administrative interpretation;
- the last-updated date of a page, where shown, is indicative and does not guarantee that all of its content remains fully current.
If you notice something that has changed, we would be grateful if you let us know at info@moudiotis.gr.
4. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, our office is not liable for loss arising from a decision taken solely on the basis of the general content of this website, without a professional examining the specific case. Nor are we responsible for the content of third-party websites we link to, or for temporary unavailability of the website for technical reasons.
Our liability for services we are engaged to provide is governed by the engagement agreement and the law, not by this page.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability or right that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, such as liability for intent or gross negligence (Article 332 of the Greek Civil Code) or your rights under consumer protection law.
5. Intellectual property
The texts, drawings, animations, photographs and design of the website are protected by copyright law (Greek Law 2121/1993). You may quote short extracts with attribution and a link to the page. For any other use, please ask us first.
Partner and manufacturer logos belong to their owners and indicate cooperation only, not representation. Vehicle photographs come from the manufacturers. Google reviews are the words of their authors and are shown unchanged. Legislative texts we quote are public documents.
6. Personal data (privacy policy)
We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and Greek Law 4624/2019.

| Data | Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name, phone, email, subject and message text (contact form, email, phone, Viber), and any document or photo you send us | Replying to your request and preparing a quote | Steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)); for general questions, our legitimate interest in replying (Art. 6(1)(f)) | [TO COMPLETE: e.g. up to 24 months] from the last contact, if no engagement follows |
| Client and case details, once an engagement follows | Performing the service and invoicing | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) and legal obligation, e.g. tax (Art. 6(1)(c)) | For the duration of the engagement and thereafter as required by tax and other law |
| Visit statistics via Google Analytics (pages, device, approximate area, cookie identifier), only if you accept | Understanding how the website is used and improving it | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and Greek Law 3471/2006, Art. 4(5)) | [TO COMPLETE: 2 or 14 months — GA4 data retention setting] |
| IP address and technical browser data | Delivering pages and security (hosting provider server logs) | Legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f)) | According to the hosting provider’s policy (GitHub) |
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling, we do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising. The website is not directed at children. Please do not send us sensitive data (e.g. health data) through the form unless your request requires it.
Who else has access (processors)
To run the website we use reputable providers who process data on our behalf or as independent controllers for their own services: Google (email, contact form via Google Apps Script, Google Analytics, Google Fonts, Google Maps), GitHub (hosting) and Cloudflare (cdnjs, for icons). See Third-party services. Data may also be disclosed to public authorities where required by law or to perform a service you engaged us for (e.g. filing an application with the competent authority).
Transfers outside the EU
Some of these providers are based in, or use infrastructure in, the United States. Transfers take place with the safeguards of the GDPR (Articles 44–49), such as the European Commission’s adequacy decision on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for certified providers, or standard contractual clauses.
Security
The website runs exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Form messages are delivered only to the office email, access to our accounts is protected and limited to those who need it, and we keep only the data we need. No transmission over the internet is completely secure; if you need to send us something confidential, we can agree a safer method.
7. Cookie policy
Cookies are small files stored on your device. Under Greek Law 3471/2006 (Article 4(5)) we need your consent for any cookie that is not strictly necessary. The website does not use advertising or marketing cookies.
| Name | Provider | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
moudiotis_consent (local storage, not a cookie) | moudiotis.gr | Strictly necessary | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so we don’t ask on every page | Until you delete it or change your choice |
_ga | Google Analytics | Analytics — consent only | Distinguishes visitors anonymously to measure traffic | 2 years |
_ga_4QBD0G5862 | Google Analytics | Analytics — consent only | Keeps the state of the visit (session) | 2 years |
| Google cookies or similar technologies | Google Maps (map in the contact section) | Third party | Displaying the embedded map; set by Google | According to Google’s policy |
Google Analytics is not loaded at all until you choose “Accept”, and it runs with IP anonymisation. Declining does not affect how the website works.
How to accept, decline or change your choice
- On your first visit a bar appears with two equal buttons, “Accept” and “Decline”.
- You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with the button below. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.
- You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings.
8. Third-party services
- GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.): hosting; technically logs the IP address to deliver pages and for security.
- Google Fonts (Google): fonts; your browser connects to Google servers, which receive your IP address.
- cdnjs (Cloudflare, Inc.): icon library; receives your IP address to deliver the file.
- Google Analytics 4 (Google): statistics, consent only.
- Google Apps Script and Gmail (Google): the contact form sends your message to the office email.
- Google Maps (Google): embedded map showing the office location.
- Links to Facebook, Viber, Google, ministry and manufacturer websites: active only if you click them; from then on each site’s own policies apply.
Provider privacy policies: Google · GitHub · Cloudflare.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access your data (Art. 15);
- rectify inaccurate data (Art. 16);
- erasure, where the conditions are met (Art. 17);
- restrict processing (Art. 18);
- portability of data you provided (Art. 20);
- object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21);
- withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7(3)).
To exercise a right, write to info@moudiotis.gr. We will reply without undue delay and within one month at the latest (extendable by two months for complex requests, in which case we will let you know), as provided by Article 12 GDPR. We may ask you to confirm your identity so that we do not disclose data to the wrong person.
If you believe the processing breaches the law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (1–3 Kifisias Ave., 115 23 Athens, www.dpa.gr). We would appreciate the chance to resolve it with you first.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update this page when the law or the way the website works changes (e.g. a new third-party service). The last-updated date appears at the end. If a change materially affects how we process your data, we will highlight it clearly and, where required, ask for your consent again.
These terms are governed by Greek law. The courts of Athens have jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules.
